Martin Maldonado has been using All-Star gloves behind the dish since his rookie campaign in 2011. Starting with the 32″ option than moving on to the ever-popular 33.5″, in 2017 “Maldy” requested a little more room in the pocket to receive the ball with pitchers throwing faster and with more movement nowadays. All-Star designed the custom 34″ mitt for him and went on to win the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. That year he also sharpied 100% on the back of the web to remind him to give 100% of the pitches 100% of his attention and focus, which All-Star has stitched onto the back of the web for this special edition release. The All-Star Pro Elite Martin Maldonado Special Edition is an exact replica of Maldy’s game day mitt, constructed from exclusive Japanese tanned steer hide that allows for a faster break-in and extends the life of the glove. The stiffer black leather helps the mitt maintain a stiffer feel, while the adjustable hook and loop tab provides a personalized fit.
